Overview of the Role:
As a THT Community Ambassador you will be key to ensuring that the Social investment from our annual dividend at Trafford Housing Trust reaches the communities for which it is intended and, that investments made respond to local needs.
Working within a wider network of community ambassadors across Trafford, a small team of Community Mentors and alongside THT’s capacity building team, you will be instrumental in encouraging local groups and organisations to access the resources available.
You will be expected to:
  •  Use and develop your networks to promote engagement with THT’s funding model within the community. [i.e. word of mouth, social media or other promotional activity i.e. printed materials, talks and presentations]
  •  Develop and maintain open lines of communication between the community and THT’s Social Investment team
  •  Help the THT capacity building team to identify individuals and groups with potential to deliver fundable work responding to local needs.
You will have:
  • Well-developed networks within the local community
  • A willingness to develop A basic knowledge of  THT’s grant and social investment programme
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others to maximise local opportunities and make a difference within their communities
  • A commitment to maintain up to date knowledge of the social investment opportunities
  • A desire to make a difference within your local community
  • A commitment to the values of THT: Trust, Innovation, and Impact.
You will have confidence and  competence in:
  •  Communicating and influencing
  • Relationship building 
  • Customer Focus
You will demonstrate:
  • A desire to build open honest and respectful relationships
  • A motivation to create a fairer world
  • A commitment to acting responsibly and accountably
You can expect to:
  • Be reimbursed for reasonable expenses.
  • The role is flexible and we anticipate a minimum of 4 hours a month although it can be many more if it fits the ambassador’s role in the community.
  • We will ask ambassadors to commit to a 6 - 12 month term initially
  • Ambassadors will be offered the opportunity for personal development through access to induction and training opportunities
  • There will also be the opportunity to progress to other roles within the community investment model such as Community Mentor or Virtual Committee member.
  • Support will be provided through the Capacity Building and Community Mentor teams and you will receive regular updates on the Trusts investment programme
